Little Friends - Jane Shemilt

I had to start this book twice as the first time I lost concentration so forgot who was who. The 2nd time, I managed to get into it and remembered who was who. This was my own fault and nothing to do with the book.

There are a lot of characters in this book, once you figure out who is who it does get easier to read. Becomes a second nature.

I like the plot, there was some great twists and turns in there. I kept thinking i had it when i didn't. It really does make you think about what is happening and also about family dynamics.

Great ending with a twist you don't see coming. I knew something was up with the character but I never expected that!

Great read

The art of deception - Louise Mangos

As he twisted harder, I turned my body in the direction of his grip to try and relieve the pain. His other hand appeared from behind him and the heel of his palm hit the side of my head. As it made contact with my ear, a siren rang in my brain, blocking all other sound. I kicked out, my foot slamming into his shins. His forward momentum increased as he was caught off balance, and his upper body folded. His shoulder glanced off the picture frame on the wall and it fell to the floor with a clatter. The rebound flung him away from me. As he let go of my arm, we fell apart like a tree struck down the middle by lightning. I staggered backwards, calves ramming against the coffee table, pushing it towards the sofa. Terror now ruling my fear, I grabbed the ceramic vase toppling from the table. I swung it ineffectually at his head. I was briefly su

Have you seen her - Lisa Hall

When you think you have figured it out something else is thrown into the pot to throw you off guard and keep you guessing. I listened to this book as part of the audio book blog tour. I really enjoyed the narrator, I think she added something extra as she did the voices for each character so you know who was talking, unlike some who just use the same tone for everyone. It is an easy listen and draws you in. Once again, it is a just one more chapter sort of book. The wait in your car until the chapter is over sort of book so you can find out the ending. There are some underlying stories that come out which are hinted at throughout the book which keep you guessing on a number of levels. Characters that nake you suspicious and ones you sympathise with. Twists and turns at every corner. 4 stars
